SYNOPSIS: The article focuses on comparing the path of illusion with the path that leads towards Almighty GOD. The article emphasises that at the first available instance, we must discard the path of illusion and take the path that leads towards GOD. READ THE FULL ARTICLE BELOW -

The Highway connecting the big cities consists of two roads. One is the ‘To’ road while the other is the ‘Fro’ road. Vehicles ply To and Fro in the opposite direction. There is a road cut after every 15 - 20 kilometers from where we can change or reverse the direction of our vehicle.

Similarly in human life too, there are two directions. One direction leads to illusion (Maya) while the other direction leads to GOD. Both directions are opposite to each other (just like the two opposite directions of a highway road for ‘To and Fro’ vehicles.)

The path of illusion is full of glitz and dazzles, just as the highway sparkles and glitters with light when approaching a city. The path of illusion is readily accessible to all and is very easy and comfortable. The three qualities required to attract which are illumination, accessibility and comfort are all present to deceive us. But by following the path of illusion, at the end of the path we find ourselves in a very unfortunate, dismal and difficult state.

The path that leads to GOD does not have any dazzle to attract us, nor is it easily accessible and is difficult. But at the end of it, we find the contiguity of GOD, the love of GOD and Divine elated ecstasy (the pinnacle of ecstasy).

We can get worldly luxuries in the path of illusion but there is surely no ecstasy, whereas on the path to GOD there is nothing except ecstasy and Divine elated ecstasy.

Every person, in his life span, gets two-three opportunities to change his direction of life, just like vehicles get the opportunity to change direction with a road cut on a highway. To enable this opportunity of changing the direction of life, we are presented with an occurrence or incident like a personal loss, physical distress, financial loss etc., which momentarily restrains us from the illusive lifestyle and brings us closer to GOD due to the grace of GOD. Circumstances like the bereavement of a dear person, insult by someone close to us, unfold in our life due to the kindness of GOD in order to disincline us from illusion. But this disinclination is only momentary.

But GOD has blessed us with wisdom and therefore it is expected from us, to use such opportunities like a Highway road cut, for changing the direction of our life’s vehicle from the "path of illusion" towards the "path that leads to GOD". Such opportunities should never be missed in life.

Just as the vehicle plying on a highway which is running out of fuel and finds the refilling pump on the opposite lane, if the driver forgets to change lane from the first highway cut, the fuel may not survive till the next highway cut (because it is 15 - 20 kilometers ahead and the car will come to a standstill after exhausting fuel). Similarly, if one misses out the opportunity to turn towards GOD, he may not survive to see another opportunity in his lifetime because when his vehicle of life will stop is not known (when he will encounter death is not known). King Shri Parikshitji got an execration to die after seven days which meant that his death was fixed after seven days. Our death is also fixed, but when, is not known to us and therefore we are not sure even for the next moment.

Therefore, like it is prudent to use the first available highway cut to reverse the lane, it is utterly prudent at the first available opportunity to change our life's direction from the "path of illusion" to the "path towards GOD". Encashing such an opportunity in life to change the direction of life must be accepted as the grace of GOD (because such opportunity surfaces in our life purely due to the kindness and mercy of GOD). It should be considered as the first grace of GOD that the opportunity to take the path to GOD has come in our life. It should be considered as the second grace of GOD that our wisdom did not lose such opportunity due to the inspiration of GOD.

Trapped in a whirlpool of illusiveness, we should constantly and sincerely pray to GOD that both grace of GOD, as referred above, should unfold in our lives too.
