SYNOPSIS: We are too tiny in front of the grandeur and majesty of Almighty GOD. But devotion still brings the oneness between us and Almighty GOD because He is our Godfather. READ FULL ARTICLE BELOW -

If we peep out of the window in a long journey we will find many helpless people (poor and disabled), many species of animals and birds, many tiny creatures like ants and insects etc. Who have taken the responsibility to fill their stomach every day. Who had taken the responsibility to rescue them in their hour of distress. Only GOD had taken such responsibilities.

We cannot properly undertake the responsibility of our small family, an industrialist cannot properly undertake the responsibility of the employees in his factory, a king cannot properly undertake the responsibility of the peoples in his province. For example, can a king have the caliber to address the miseries of a person in distress about 200 kms away from him at 2 o’clock in the night. It is not possible for any king to be able to know the misery and to address such misery of a person 200 kms away at 2 o’clock in the night. The same holds true for a head of a family or for an industrialist. Take a second example, a head of the family had gone on business to a distant place. He receives a telephone call at 2 o’clock in night that his wife had got a serious heart stoke. Away from his home, he will give direction to take her to a particular doctor or a particular hospital. At best, he will call up the doctor and his relatives 5-6 times. At last, to overcome the distress he will have to pray to Almighty GOD. He does not have the power or the ability ( howsoever intelligent or rich he may be) to address the distress of his wife by his own self. He will have to surrender to Almighty GOD. In the hour of distress, even the atheist surrenders to Almighty GOD for he clearly knows that it is the only way to overcome the distress.

After seeing the caliber of a king or a head of family, let us focus on the grandeur of Almighty GOD. The LORD sees a tiny black ant in a black coal mine on a black and dark night and hears its plight for 24 hours and 365 days. It is not only for an ant but he does so for zillions and zillions i.e, innumerable and incalculable creatures (be it aquatic, terrestrial, subaerial and flora). It is only GOD who visions innumerable creatures at all times, hears the miseries of innumerable creatures at all times, provide food to innumerable creatures every day and help innumerable creatures in their hour of distress. If we could only visualize this grandeur, we are able to understand the majesty of Almighty GOD. Then we would surrender to the grandeur of Almighty GOD because howsoever strong, intelligent and rich we may be, we find that our caliber is just like a tiny particle of sand when compared to the majesty of Almighty GOD which is like millions and millions of mountain Himalayas. ( Here a citation of millions and millions of mountain Himalayas is given to demonstrate the majesty of Almighty GOD but in real terms our human mind cannot visualize GOD’s grandeur and the words of dictionary cannot spell it.)

The moment we are able to experience the grandeur of Almighty GOD, our affection and love for Him starts increasing. This affection and love takes the shape of devotion. We can draw nearer with Almighty GOD by devotion and devotion alone. It is only devotion which draws us closer to Almighty GOD. See the difference between GOD and ourself – GOD is such Almighty and we are such ordinary. Still devotion brings the oneness between the individual soul and the UNIVERSAL SOUL.

Devotion makes us surrender in the lotus feet of GOD. When we surrender, the sorrows of our life starts fading away. Before we could even know, our sorrows disappear. Before we could realize, happiness is filled in our lives. Elixir turns an iron metal into gold. It is the characteristics of Elixir that it turn iron into gold without going into the merits or demerits of iron. Likewise Almighty GOD does not go into the merits or demerits of a soul and the moment it surrenders to Him, He replaces the sorrow with happiness. It is the majesty of the lotus feet of GOD that we do not get anything less than this. After being touched by Elixir can an iron remain an iron. Not possible. Let us understand this principle with another example. We have coins of one rupee denomination in our pocket. When a beggar approaches us we cannot give him 10 paisa (1 Rupee = 100 paisa) because we do not have it. With decrement we have to give him one rupee coin. Likewise the lotus feet of Almighty GOD will only give happiness and nothing less because it is the only thing available there.

Therefore the best remedy is to surrender in the auspicious feet of GOD who is almighty and full of grandeur and majesty. There is a term GODFATHER in English. The Holy text lays stress on – LET GOD BE THE ONLY GODFATHER. But we often falter here. We often look upon a very rich person or a politician as our GODFATHER. The fault is ours because we have failed to enlighten ourself with the majesty of Almighty GOD. If we could have enlighten ourself we would have firmly believed in the terminology GOD GOD & ONLY GOD and would have made GOD our only & only GODFATHER.

This is what a devotee firmly believes and this is what is reflected in the immortal lyrics “Vaishnava Jan To” by the great devotee Sri Narsiji . In one of the verse it is said “ To hail GOD and no one else” which means that no earthly name or men be hailed. The devotees only hail the Almighty LORD.
